(No. 1) AIDU
1Spatial worked closely with No. 1 AIDU to develop an Aeronautical Production System (APS). This AGI award winning system has enabled No. 1 AIDU to improve the quality and consistency of their data by maintaining it in a single, central database, rather than numerous individual charts. The creation of a single data source has also increased efficiency in the unit by minimising duplication of effort and reducing inconsistencies. Overall, No. 1 AIDU is enjoying substantial time and cost savings, alongside increased productivity.

(The) Local Government Boundaries Commissioner (LGBC) for Northern Ireland
1Spatial assisted the Local Government Boundaries Commissioner (LGBC) for Northern Ireland with building an integrated Boundaries GIS, by migrating their GIS to a Windows-based platform, utilising their Radius Vision product. In doing so, 1Spatial were able to facilitate a much more efficient boundaries review than had ever been possible before. The new system meant that the time taken to define electoral boundaries within Northern Ireland was cut from 12 months to two months and the process used half the number of staff.

AdV
1Spatial has been working in partnership with AdV on one of the largest generalisation projects in Europe to improve business efficiencies in Germany's state mapping agencies. Taking 1:10000 base data 1Spatial has delivered an automatic generalisation flowline to generate digital landscape models at 1:50,000 scale. This enables AdV to derive more up to date digital topographic products at their target scale and make time and cost savings at the same time.

Automotive Manufacturer
1Spatial assisted a large Japanese automotive manufacturer to reduce their engine development costs by undertaking advanced spatial data analysis. By using advanced processing algorithms, 1Spatial were able to simulate driving a given road network and then process the data within the Radius Studio platform. This analysis pinpointed the most extreme G-force corners to permitting the manufacturer to test their engines in the most taxing environment, without actually driving the entire network. This enabled them to provide mechanical reliability whilst keeping operational costs as low as possible.

Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH)
1Spatial worked with the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) and Ordnance Survey Great Britain on a feasibility study to investigate the generalisation of OS MasterMap® as a potential foundation for CEH's Land Cover Map (LCM) 2007. Generalisation of the OS MasterMap data was necessary to reduce the number of objects and provide a spatial framework for land parcels for the LCM.
The spatial framework envisaged by CEH and 1Spatial was successfully realised, with the sample data being reduced from 120,000 objects to 10,000 objects. The generalised sample data met CEH's objectives and demonstrated that a full-scale operation would be both possible and beneficial. CEH could make production cost savings and the estimated creation time of the LCM2007 was reduced by two thirds.

Environment Agency
1Spatial enabled the Environment Agency to make significant time-savings and improve system performance by increasing the efficiency of spatial queries and data updates in their National Flood and Coastal Defence Database. 1Spatial achieved this by using Radius Topology to accurately fix the LIDAR data and then reduce the volume of data being traversed and finally re-constructing the topology for each one to ensure correct connectivity between the simplified objects. Overall, the process enabled error-free data to be analysed and results obtained 35% faster than was possible before.

IGN France
In 1999, the Carto2001 project was launched by Institut Geographique National (IGN), with IGN selecting 1Spatial's automated
generalisation technology to achieve its target of creating 1:100,000 mapping (Top100) from the BD Carto® database
at 1:50,000. Since the BD Carto® database does not hold buildings as elementary objects, the generalisation fl owline needed
to focus on road networks. The project was initiated on the back of IGN's leading involvement in the European AGENT project
(Automated GEneralisation New Technology).

Land Information New Zealand (LINZ)
Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) publishes maps in new geodetic reference system (NZTM). The New Zealand Topographic Information Strategy 2005-2010 identified a high priority for LINZ to replace the current NZMG-based topographic map series with a new series based on the NZ Transverse Mercator projection: NZTopo50. Since 2001 LINZ has been contracting its aerial flying, orthophoto production and data maintenance work based on this datum, projection and sheet layout.

London Borough of Enfield
The London Borough of Enfield chose 1Spatial to help them improve the quality of their data. Following the migration to OS MasterMap®, initial trials had highlighted discrepancies between the council's own data and the MasterMap base data.1Spatial's Radius Topology was used to clean any errors in the data so that such discrepancies were removed before the data was migrated into a single, centralised, enterprise-wide database. Radius Topology was then able to act as a "gatekeeper", only allowing clean, accurate data into the database, ensuring that all of the council's data is error-free and accessible across the entire organisation.

MidCoast Water
MidCoast Water implemented 1Spatial's Radius Topology product to ensure both ongoing data quality and compliance with state government legislation that requires accurate asset information. Radius Topology assures topological connectivity between MidCoast Water's networks, thus preventing the duplication of editing tasks and saving valuable time. It also cleaned all of the existing data and now ensures the continued quality of the data by acting as a "gatekeeper", only allowing clean accurate data into the central database. This has enabled MidCoast Water to accurately pinpoint their assets and allows their staff to make fast, confident business decisions.

Online Digitiser, Shannon Development Ltd
Shannon Development is a government owned regional development company dedicated to promoting and developing the Shannon Region of Ireland. Employees have a need to create spatial data as an integrated part of the normal day-to-day data capture and maintenance. However, the creation of spatial data typically required access to, and skills in the use of, specialist desktop GIS applications.
The 1Spatial Online Digitiser was specifically developed to allow the organisation to rapidly provide controlled access to spatial data capture and maintenance facilities for their internal user base. In addition, the system provides integrated functionality for Shannon Development's land bank asset management function. Overall, the Online Digistiser is delivering major cost savings over traditional desktop GIS applications, while at the same time providing Shannon Development with a flexible but controlled environment for the creation and sharing of combined spatial and non-spatial data.

US Army Corps
1Spatial, working in collaboration with LSI, has been engaged in a continuing series of research projects to examine the viability of tools, to address the fundamental issues of data quality and connectivity, based on 3D topology. These data elements are vital requirements for allowing analysis to be performed on 3D data, as well as allowing scalability to a contiguous city and even countrywide dataset. Results so far have shown significant reductions in response times using 3D topological queries rather than 2D geometric ones and the execution of various test scenarios demonstrated that the ISO 19107-compliant 3D topology model was scalable.
