DNF Masterclass

29th April to 1st May at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Stansted Airport, UK
The Digital National Framework (DNF) is an industry standard for integrating and sharing business and geographic information from multiple sources.
The 1Spatial Conference will include a DNF Masterclass providing information and an update on current ideas, including possible solutions.
The Masterclass will involve an introduction and presentation on the vision of DNF by Keith Murray from Ordnance Survey Great Britain. There will then be an overview of four new white papers, which will prompt discussion and debate;
Implications of the INSPIRE Directive
Introduces the aims and objectives of the INSPIRE Directive, explaining its impact in the UK. This paper also looks at what has happened to date and how and where DNF principles might assist in the achievement of INSPIRE objectives.
Achieving business benefits from improving the quality and integrity of location-based data
Introduces what is meant by geospatial data quality and integrity and highlights key topics and challenges for users of geospatial data, going on to examine how DNF can help meet these challenges.
Better Service Delivery through connected information
Addresses the issues of how to improve service delivery in the public sector, the delivery of citizen-centric services and the role that reliable information and location knowledge play in these provisions. This paper also outlines how DNF can assist with meeting these challenges by providing a set of basic principles for integrating and sharing business and geographic information from multiple sources.
Building the business case for interoperable location information
Provides information and guidance for those wishing to develop a business case to support investment into interoperable location information.
The last section of the Masterclass will feature two short presentations on software solutions that could help in realising the DNF Vision, storyboarding possible scenarios and how they could be addressed. This will include demonstrations of a lightweight cross-referencing data administration tool and a cross-referencing data management tool.
The DNF Masterclass will take place on Wednesday 30th April at 14.00 as part of the 1Spatial Conference 2008 and is open to all Conference delegates.
