DXFOut allows Autodesk Map users to access their Oracle spatial data offline via DXF files.

The current trend within the GIS community is towards centralised spatial repositories using relational databases such as Oracle.  While this move has huge benefits, there is still a requirement for offline access this up-to-date data.

To resolve this issue, 1Spatial has developed an application that runs on an Oracle database. It can export a user-defined view of spatial data from multiple tables into one DXF file. Once set up, this process can run nightly, allowing users to easily access the latest copy of the data for offline use with no overhead to the GIS or IT departments.

Geometry types available

• Points
• Text (including height, rotation and anchor point)
• Polylines
• Polygons including complex Polygons (converted to closed Polylines)

Tailoring results

• The package takes in a parameter of a Bounded rectangle – only data within (or partially within) the rectangle will be returned for all tables
• Theming / Layer name - a column can be allocated for each table to automatically allocate the layer name
• An additional “where clause” can be added against each of the tables used to further limit what is returned.
  

Security

• The application’s availability can be controlled within Oracle
• The DXF file is created on the Server with access to the folder controlled by IT
