Overview

1Spatial’s Oracle Spatial Check Utility (OSC) allows you to easily identify all your spatial data in an Oracle Locator or Spatial Database. You can then review its metadata, indexes and SDO data in one easy-to-use form.

Functions

OSC has three main functions: Locating; Reporting and Maintenance, each is detailed below.

Spatial Data Locator
The form will automatically find all spatial data owned by a particular Oracle schema or, if selected, all spatial data that a schema has been granted access to.

Reporting
Once the spatial data has been found, relevant information is displayed. Colour coding is used to highlight potential issues across the following areas:

• Metadata Summary
• Index Status
• Health Metrics (*)
• Geometry Summary
• Geometry Details & Visualisation

Spatial Error Checking

Maintenance
With possible issues highlighted, OSC also includes a suite of tools to create, amend or delete as appropriate. Areas covered in the current release include:

• Coordinate System Metadata Update
• Extent and tolerance Validation
• Spatial index management
• Spatial Error “Export to file” (*)
• Geometry Print (*)

System Requirements
The current version of OSC runs on Windows XP / Server 2003 and requires:

• .Net 2.0 framework installed
• Oracle 9i or 10g client installed and configured to point to your database. (go to Oracle)
