| Data Generalisation
Help set the direction of future generalisation projects by taking our
generalisation questionnaire
Managing the size of spatial data can help when fitting data onto small volume devices, as it allows more data to be stored on a device. This can also improve the speed of navigation, routing or map display. This reduction process is often referred to as generalisation. For information about advanced generalisation specifically for map display at different scales, see the section on spatial data cartographic display.
It is vital that this reduction process does not affect the intelligence, connectivity and accuracy of the data.
1Spatial's generalisation processes for data reduction can reduce the size and detail of the spatial data while retaining its quality, accuracy and intelligence.
